I've wanted to blog for a long time and kept fretting and cogitating (I stole that word from my friend, Ruth Ann) about where to begin, so I finally decided to just jump right in and start with today and see where that takes us! I'm a bit ADD/OCD so thought it best to start with a peek into daily life in our household. So hold on and prepare to discuss art, books, diet, healthy living, living with teenagers, living with menfolk, new grandbabies, gardening, herbs, cooking, antiques, all things vintage and junky, up-cycling, jewelry, crafts AND last but not ever least, living with a T1D.
What is a T1D, you ask? Well, I'm glad you asked! T1D is medical jargon for type 1 diabetic. Our sweet baby boy was diagnosed with T1D at the tender age of 4-years-old and it's been a long and hard road at times, but we're so very happy to share our experiences, in the hopes that others might learn from our hard won struggles with this mean and nasty disease. Our son is now 16, and puberty brought on a whole new barrage of struggles for him and, therefore, us to navigate. Much of what we've learned has been by trial and error or through very painful mistakes, and that's not a very fun way to learn. Matter of fact, it's my least favorite! Especially for someone who's a bit OCD and most comfortable with orderly, neat, pre-planned events (refer to paragraph one above)! More on this subject later.
So this week in between the work and school week madness my mind has been on, amongst other things, what to make for Valentine's Day gifts. I'm a huge fan of Chan Luu wrap bracelets, so we'll be whipping out a few of those this weekend.
Haven't yet thought much about the actual Valentine's Day cards, but stay tuned. I'll paw through the art room (a/k/a hoarder cave) this weekend and see what we have to work with! For now I'll show you a few pix of past Valentines.
Ya'll come back now!

I like it!
